FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about programs, enrollment, cost, and careers at MVVI.

Programs & Training

What programs does MVVI offer?

We offer CDL Class A & B Trucking, Heavy Equipment Operator (NCCER), HVAC Technician, Commercial Electrician, Culinary Arts, Mobile & Tower Crane (NCCCO), and Welding Technology. See our programs page for full details.

How long does it take to complete a program?

Program length varies: CDL runs about 4 weeks, HVAC is 8–10 weeks, Heavy Equipment and Crane are 10–16 weeks. All are accelerated compared to community college timelines.

Do I need prior experience or a high school diploma?

Most programs require only a high school diploma or GED. No prior trade experience is necessary. Our CDL program requires a valid driver's license and a clean enough driving record to obtain a commercial license.

What certifications will I earn?

Graduates earn the credential for their field: CDL license from the state, NCCER Core + specialty card, NCCCO crane operator certification, EPA 608 (HVAC), and more. These are nationally recognized, not just MVVI diplomas.

Are programs available at both campuses?

El Paso offers the full catalog. Alamogordo currently offers CDL, Heavy Equipment, HVAC, and Electrician. Call us to confirm current availability.

Enrollment & Scheduling

When can I start?

MVVI uses rolling admissions — we don't wait for semester start dates. Once you're enrolled and funded, you can start with the next cohort, which is often within a few weeks.

Can I attend while working a full-time job?

Yes. El Paso offers evening and night class options for most programs. Classes are designed so working adults can complete training without quitting their current job.

How do I apply?

You can apply online at our enrollment page, or call your nearest campus to apply over the phone. An advisor will walk you through the process.

Is there a waitlist?

Some programs fill quickly, especially CDL in El Paso. Apply early to secure your seat. We'll let you know your expected start date at enrollment.

Financial Aid & Cost

How much do programs cost?

Prices start at $4,800 for CDL. Crane Operator is our highest at $14,500. Many students pay significantly less after grants, VA benefits, or employer reimbursement.

What financial aid options are available?

We work with VA/GI Bill benefits, workforce development grants, employer tuition reimbursement programs, and flexible payment plans. Visit our Financial Aid page to explore all options.

Are veterans eligible for free training?

Many veterans qualify to have 100% of tuition covered through the GI Bill or VRRAP. Our veterans advisor can help you navigate the process.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer structured payment plans that let you begin training while paying over time. Contact us for current plan options.

After Graduation

Does MVVI help with job placement?

Yes. We have a dedicated job placement team and relationships with 200+ employer partners across transportation, construction, utilities, and hospitality sectors.

What is the average salary for MVVI graduates?

It depends on the program. CDL grads typically start at $55–70K. Crane operators often earn $90–120K. Our placement team provides current salary data for your local market.

What if I don't pass my certification exam?

We provide retake support and additional practice time to help you pass. Our goal is your credential.
